Bad things happen to good people

I've been trying to sell our pool table for a while now. I promised my Mom I'd renovate the basement with the money. Sounds so simple, does it not? But alas, life has it's rash way with me once again. It seems its a lot easier to blame life than people lol. "Live" is "Evil" spelled backwards, or so they say.

Apparently there has been scams, all over the world. But this particular one got me to take the bait, and of so fast it happened. To have trust in complete strangers equals to a death sentence.

So what happened?! This guy Dave replies to my Craigslist ad about buying the pool table. A very genuine email, not like the others you can smell the scam from a mile away. He says "goodmorning", and "please" and things that a genuine customer might say. So we made a deal, however online, to me was still somewhat binding. Ok Dave I'll give you a chance. I waited for weeks and finally received an envelope with no return address. Inside, is a folded flyer and oh yes tucked inside the flyer, is the $2500 money order, Woohoo! But as life would have it, it was a fake, we knew it was a fake! We even wen't to the bank it was supposedly been issued, and the bank somehow knew there was something wrong with it. Although, they weren't really blunt about it.

Again, taking the hook. I went home, put the money aside and waiting until Dave contacted me. Just to be sure it came from him. A few days later, a private number calls me, odd how the call was blocked. Dave calls me asking me to hurry and cash the money order, to hurry and send the rest to the shipper. ALL A PART OF THE SCAM!!! Agitated and surrendering to greed, I rushed to the bank and deposited the money order without any regards, thinking I was smart enough that the outcome will be just fine. After depositing, I was able to take some money out of my account and like a good sucker, sent it to the shipper. There it goes, someone, pulled a fast one on me. Dave calls to make sure I did what he instructed and oh God, he was so happy. I never heard from hear again after that.

Stupid me! Bye bye cash, all I could do is bitch about it in RCOL/Police and Craigslist.

Mom was dissapointed, I was disappointed, wife was dissapointed. Thanks to Dave, I got set back from my plans on bringing the kids here. You asshole, die and rot in hell! I hope you get what you deserve!

I'm no Buddhist

I'm no Buddhist or not a follower of Buddha's teachings, but I strongly believe he was on to something. Since elementary school I've taken his words to heart and try ever so hard to live righteously. But like any human, I too fall and have my dark days. It's those good days that holds me up, it's those bad days that makes me stronger.

Buddha believes that we are created born to live with sorrow and suffering. Suffering is brought upon by selfish desires and can only be eliminated by living in accordance to "Dharma", meaning to live a righteous life or to follow a virtuous path.

According to Buddha, the way to deliverance is summed up into four noble truths:

1. The universality of suffering - People discover through rebirth, aging, and death that life is full of sorrow. We suffer this sorrow until deliverance is achieved.

2.
The origin of suffering - Suffering is caused by the false desires of the senses that have been deceived into clinging to the impermanent world. The quest for immortality further aggravates human suffering.

3.
The overcoming of suffering - If false desires cause suffering, then the desires need to be suppressed, abandoned, or rejected in order to nullify their effects. Ignorance of the way of deliverance and the delusion that there is a permanent self are the primary cause of suffering.

4. The way leading to the suppression of suffering
- The noble eightfold path is a sacred path with eight branches called right views of understanding, right aspirations, right speech, right conduct or action, right livelihood, right effort or endeavor, right mind control or concentration, and right mindfulness. These eight branches are not stages that can be lived out in succession or isolation from one another. They are different dimensions of a total way of life. Buddha did not deny the existence of gods, he taught that the worship of gods obstructed one's quest for nirvana. To him the gods inhabit the cosmos and are impermanent like all of us, so they too must escape rebirth through nirvana.

I think finding out the truth is something he lived and died for. We too, sooner later find out the truth, that our world is not perfect. We are born and is living under pain and suffering, even religion is a never ending struggle of faith. If by chance enlightenment can be achieved, then imagine a world free from physical bonds. No bounds as long as there are minds and thought.

I go crazy!!!

So here we are, the glorious Year 2008! This year and the previous years that had a lot of disappointments. Yours truly had undergone serious levels of hellish hardships, but there's always light at the end of any tunnel.

I've experience going filthy broke, to avoiding creditors and living the intoxicated life. Experiences I'd rather not re-live. Main reasons why a man choses to start a new life.

There is always a lingering sense of pain behind every happiness. Every smile is a smile your soul should deserve. -Leeoh

The Plan

I've always dreamed of living a simple life. Maybe living somewhere far away in a nice panoramic place and just live happily and simply with my family. Maybe make my own secret community like in the movie "The Village", where there's a place so throwback and so laid back, I don't have to worry about the material things we often lust for. Of course I'll have to have a TV, a pc and internet of course LOL, who am I fooling?

It's amazing how, in retro-spec even the mistakes you make in your care-free younger days affect the future. I guess one or two bad grades in high school do make a difference. Damn you Mr. Bata! You bad math teacher you!!! So kids stay in school and strive for the highest, because in the end, it does pay off!

How nice would life be if we had a magical back space key?

What they call good music these days...

I've been updating my Iphone songs, while all the songs nowadays are nice and polished, what they would call "bubble gum artists" seems to lack the certain hold on me. I like all kinds of songs, as long as they have that certain edge, a good beat, a good melody, anything in the song I can relate to. Because after a long day (or starting a new one) that's what I need to bring me to life again.

I seem to find myself downloading older songs, like 90's old and early 2000's songs. Back in the day when music actually mattered(or maybe just for me). I go in the clubs, and these are what they call anthems. You go in the clubs now, and they still play these hits. Maybe I'm just reminiscing times when me and the boys in our single days would chill and would constantly play these music. I'd even pretend to know how to freestyle and rap with the beats. Biggie and Tupac is still remains my top favourite, I'd listen to their songs more than Lil' Wayne any day.

Starting A New

Hello Blog and to all the folks that by chance be browsing thru this "Shameless Self Promotion" Lols.

Let me start by sharing something about myself. My name is Leeoh (Not how my mom would spell it) I'm closing in the 30's, I'm married with 2 kids and 1 Dog named Lightning. My wife's name is Katherine, Sam my daughter and Marthy my son. I just know they'll grow up to be good people.

I have started a blog simply because I'm now too lazy or too out of time to sit down and write a book. I find that writing a book is alot more difficult nowadays as my lifestyle isn't really forgiving. So why a blog? As my friends would say, everyone needs an output or a "vice".

Vices
I don't think of myself as material driven, although I go gaga over the new gadgets once in a while i.e. The Iphone, although some people would agree it's a crappy piece of electronic. But I beg to differ, show me a piece of electronic that is not a piece of crap. Everything is made of plastic nowadays and no matter how basic the device there are still idiots that can't figure it out then break it.

I recently got the new Iphone 3g. Before continuing, I would just like to say that this is not a promotion, just sharing my feelings about this recently acquired de-vice if you catch my drift.

Contrary from what everyone says, NOT everyone has an Iphone, If you are one of those people that says "OmG everyone has an iphone !", I'm guessing you probably don't have one. Don't be so insensitive dickheads! Iphone users know what I'm talking about. Yes alot of people bought into the hype, some bought it because of peer jealousy, some got it because they just had to get the best NEW gadgets to show off. But some, like yours trully, I do use it for organizing, checking emails, GPS, the obvious phone and texting feature, and for the fact that some people can't seem to live without facebook and the internet. If everyone had a iphone, the world would probably not get better, but it would probably make people so hi-tech looking. I like my iphone, It's now a part of me, but I'm not in-love with it, unlike some people I know.
